Day 27 : July 8, 2010
I went to the very edge of Hunting Island State Park in Beaufort today. There are a few cabins left, but the erosion has wiped away most of the beach and cabins. This is a shot of a tree on the beach. It was high tide when I took this so you can’t see the entirety of the roots because the water covered them up. But during low tide, six feet of roots were showing – just bolting out of the ground and reaching to the base of the tree. It was incredible. I think this might actually be my favorite picture of the photo challenge!
